Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites


Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites are an easy appetizer that's ready in minutes. Simple and satisfying, they make a perfect finger food for parties, holiday gatherings, or a quick snack.

These bites are always a hit and require almost no effort. Just two ingredients are all it takes to put together a tasty appetizer everyone will enjoy.

What You'll Need

  • 24 marinated mozzarella balls (I used 2 containers of Formaggio brand)
  • 12 slices prosciutto

How to Make It

1. Cut each slice of prosciutto in half lengthwise.

2. Wrap each mozzarella ball with a half slice of prosciutto.

3. Secure with a toothpick or small skewer.

Can I Make My Own Marinated Mozzarella?

Yes! Combine extra virgin olive oil, minced fresh garlic, Italian seasoning, chopped fresh parsley and basil, salt, chili flakes, and the zest of half a lemon in a bowl or and mix well. Add the mozzarella balls and gently toss to coat. Cover and let them sit in the fridge for 4 hours (or overnight) to absorb the flavors. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.


Tips and FAQs

  • Prep ahead: You can wrap the bites in prosciutto a few hours in advance. Store in an airtight container in the fridge and bring to room temperature for 15–20 minutes before serving.
  • Don't toss the marinade! Combine it with a splash of balsamic vinegar and use it for dipping bread, as a salad dressing, or to toss with pasta.
  • Get on (charcuterie) board: Arrange the prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella bites with fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, crackers, dips, and other small bites.
