It’s the final day of Fall Flavors Week, and today I’m sharing my Ginger Apple Pear Crisp recipe. This easy fall dessert combines the tartness of Granny Smith apples with sweet Bartlett pears, all topped with a brown sugar and oat crumble that’s perfectly crisp and golden.

1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping:
-
1 cup old-fashioned oats
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-
1/8 teaspoon salt
-
1/3 cup cold butter, cubed
How to Make It
-
Prep the Fruit
In a large bowl, toss the apples, pears, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, fresh ginger, salt, and vanilla. Transfer to a greased 13x9-inch baking dish. -
Make the Topping
In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in the butter until crumbly. -
Assemble & Bake
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the fruit. Bake at 375°F for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the fruit is tender. -
Serve
Serve warm on its own or with vanilla bean ice cream.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the crisp warm on its own or take it over the top with vanilla bean ice cream and diced candied ginger.
