Xavier Soup: Simple Italian Comfort Food

X is for Xavier Soup! This year I'm participating in a bi-weekly challenge with some blogging friends to post recipes using all of the letters in the alphabet.  It can feature a food that begins with the letter of the week or the recipe name can contain the week's letter. Herbed Chicken and Spinach Soup

Here in the New England, we are anticipating a winter storm that's supposed to be a whopper.  That means a good bit of time out in the cold, snow blowing and shoveling, and one of the things that makes that tolerable is knowing I can come inside to a nice warm bowl of soup.

Basil Turkey Soup

Winter marches on here in New England, and more and more, I find myself craving soup.  Some days I have lots of time to put something together.  For the days that I don't, this Basil Turkey Soup is perfect.   It's easy to keep all the ingredients on hand, and you could definitely use either chicken or turkey.

Italian Sausage Minestrone

It has been one long, cold winter already here in New England.  Though my switch to eating healthier has been pretty easy overall, I've been struggling with finding warm, comforting foods for the season, so this event came at the perfect time.   I don't make tons of soups, but when I was searching for recipes, this Italian Sausage Minestrone really stood out to me.

Satisfying Tomato Soup- perfect Winter warm up food!

We are stuck in a snowy, cold weather pattern this month.   Lots of shoveling and snowblowing to be done, and nothing helps to warm you back up like soup.  I can't recall ever eating tomato soup before, even as a kid (I liked Chicken & Stars).    I ran across this one on the Taste of Home site, and it seemed like a great recipe to start with.
