Dirty Shirley Cocktails

D is for Dirty

The Dirty Shirley is a grown-up version of the classic Shirley Temple, with vodka, Sprite, and grenadine for the familiar flavor and bright red color, finished with cherries and a squeeze of lime.

Whether you make it by the glass or the pitcher, Dirty Shirleys are easy to mix and simple to serve.

What You'll Need

Ingredients for 1 drink:

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce grenadine
  • Sprite
  • Ice
  • Maraschino cherries and lime wheel, optional

How to Make It

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Add vodka and grenadine.
  3. Top with Sprite and stir gently.
  4. Garnish with maraschino cherries and a lime wheel, if desired.

By the Pitcher

For a crowd, mix the vodka and grenadine in a pitcher, then pour over ice into individual glasses and top each with Sprite. Add cherries and a wheel of lime to each glass, if desired.

Easy Stuffed Waffles with Sweet and Savory Fillings

Stuffed waffles are a fun twist on the classic waffle—crispy on the outside and packed with tasty fillings inside. I recently got a stuffed waffle maker, and I’m loving how it turns waffles into little pockets of deliciousness! The best part? You don’t need a strict recipe because this is a perfect “clean out the fridge” meal. Grab whatever leftovers or fillings you have on hand, stuff ’em inside, and waffle away! Here’s what I tried this time, but feel free to get creative and make it your own.

Strawberry Pizzelles

Pizzelles are one of my favorite childhood cookies and I'm constantly looking for ways to put a new spin on them.  Since one of my favorite summer fruits is strawberries, I swapped out the vanilla in the original recipe with strawberry extract.
