Pear Crisp Ice Cream

This Pear Crisp Ice Cream combines soft cinnamon-spiced pears with creamy vanilla ice cream and graham oat crumbs.

This post is sponsored in conjunction with Fall Flavors Week. I received product samples from sponsor companies to aid in the creation of my recipes. All opinions are my own.

What You’ll Need

Pear Mixture:

  • 2 large pears, diced

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

Sweet Cream Base:

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste

  • Nairn’s oat graham crumbs, pulsed in a food processor, plus additional for garnish

How to Make It

  1. Cook the Pears
Combine the diced pears, brown sugar, water, and cinnamon in a skillet. Cook until soft and syrupy, then stir in vanilla. Let cool.

  2. Prepare the Ice Cream Base
Whisk the eggs with sugar, then mix in the cream and milk. Chill slightly, then churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  3. Add Pears During Churning
When the ice cream begins to firm, add the cooled pear mixture and continue churning until incorporated.

  4. Layer and Freeze
Layer the ice cream and graham crumbs in a container. Repeat as desired, then freeze overnight. Top with additional crumbs before serving.

Strawberry Pizzelles

Pizzelles are one of my favorite childhood cookies and I'm constantly looking for ways to put a new spin on them.  Since one of my favorite summer fruits is strawberries, I swapped out the vanilla in the original recipe with strawberry extract.

Easy Stuffed Waffles with Sweet and Savory Fillings

Stuffed waffles are a fun twist on the classic waffle—crispy on the outside and packed with tasty fillings inside. I recently got a stuffed waffle maker, and I’m loving how it turns waffles into little pockets of deliciousness! The best part? You don’t need a strict recipe because this is a perfect “clean out the fridge” meal. Grab whatever leftovers or fillings you have on hand, stuff ’em inside, and waffle away! Here’s what I tried this time, but feel free to get creative and make it your own.
