If you love Dunkin’s iced Dunkalatte, this easy copycat recipe shows you how to make it at home anytime.

Homemade copycat Dunkin’ Iced Dunkalatte made with espresso, coffee milk, and ice

What Is an Iced Dunkalatte?

The Iced Dunkalatte is made with espresso and coffee milk instead of regular milk, giving it a sweeter, creamier flavor than a traditional iced latte. Coffee milk is a sweetened milk made with coffee syrup and is a classic New England ingredient often associated with Rhode Island.

Ingredients for the Perfect Iced Dunkalatte

  • 2 to 3 Tablespoons coffee syrup
  • 6 to 8 ounces milk of your choice
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 to 2 shots espresso

What is coffee milk?

Coffee milk is made by combining coffee syrup with milk. It’s often sold pre-made in stores, but you can easily make it at home using any milk and coffee syrup. Stir well so the syrup fully blends before adding ice. Autocrat is the most widely used coffee syrup brand in New England.

How to Make Your Own Coffee Syrup

Want to DIY your coffee syrup? It’s super simple! Here’s how:

  1. Brew ½ cup of coffee grounds with 2 cups of water.

  2. Pour the brewed coffee into a saucepan, add 1 cup of sugar.

  3. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to medium and let it simmer until it reduces by half — about 30 minutes.

  4. Transfer to a jar, let cool, and store in the fridge.

No Espresso Machine? No Problem!

If you don’t have an espresso machine, no worries. There are some great instant espresso brands out there like Nescafe Gold Blonde. Just mix 1 teaspoon of instant espresso with 2 ounces of water per shot. I like to shake it up in a small jar or use a handheld milk frother for that nice foam.

How to Make Your Iced Dunkalatte

  1. Combine your coffee syrup and milk in a glass.
  2. Add plenty of ice cubes.
  3. Pour in the espresso.
  4. Stir everything gently to combine.
  5. Pop in a straw and enjoy!
Want to customize it? Try adding a shot of caramel, hazelnut, or vanilla syrup to switch up the flavors.

Why is this called a Dunkalatte and not an iced coffee?

An iced Dunkalatte is made with espresso and milk. Unlike iced coffee, which is brewed coffee served cold, this iced espresso drink starts with espresso, which is why it is considered a latte instead of iced coffee.

Give it a try and make it your own! Maybe add a splash of your favorite syrup or top it with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel. I’d love to hear how you customize yours, so feel free to leave a comment below or drop a rating on the recipe card.

Easy Stuffed Waffles with Sweet and Savory Fillings

Stuffed waffles are a fun twist on the classic waffle—crispy on the outside and packed with tasty fillings inside. I recently got a stuffed waffle maker, and I’m loving how it turns waffles into little pockets of deliciousness! The best part? You don’t need a strict recipe because this is a perfect “clean out the fridge” meal. Grab whatever leftovers or fillings you have on hand, stuff ’em inside, and waffle away! Here’s what I tried this time, but feel free to get creative and make it your own.
