I decided to use Golden Oreos for this small batch recipe and swapped regular M&Ms for mini, which I like best in baked goods.
What You’ll Need
-
1 large egg
-
1 cup packed light brown sugar
-
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
¼ teaspoon baking soda
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
18 Golden Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped
-
½ cup milk chocolate M&M minis
How to Make It
-
Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8x8-inch pan with foil, letting ends extend up sides; grease the foil.
-
In a large bowl, whisk together egg, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
-
If desired, combine flour, baking soda, and salt separately, then stir into the wet mixture.
-
Fold in the chopped Oreos.
-
Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and sprinkle the mini M&Ms on top.
-
Bake 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
-
Cool completely on a wire rack. Using the foil edges, lift the bars from the pan and cut into squares.
-
Store in an airtight container.
For a fun twist, feel free to swap the colors of the M&Ms or try different Oreo varieties. If you enjoy these, you’ll love our M&M Oat Shortbread Bars or Chocolate Glazed Brownies.
