Gingerbread White Russian

This Gingerbread White Russian blends classic holiday flavor with a smooth, creamy finish. Kahlua, vodka, gingerbread syrup and heavy cream come together in a chilled, sugar rimmed glass for the perfect seasonal cocktail.

What You'll Need

Gingerbread sugar for rimming the glass
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
For the cocktail
Gingerbread cookies, for garnish, if desired

How to Make It

1. Combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a shallow dish and mix until blended.

2. Pour a small amount of gingerbread syrup into a separate shallow dish. Dip the rim of each glass into the syrup, then into the gingerbread sugar. Twist gently to coat. Chill the glasses until ready to serve.

3. Add ice to each prepared glass. Pour in equal parts Kahlua, vodka and gingerbread syrup. Stir to combine.

4. Slowly pour the heavy cream over the top, then stir again until the drink is smooth and creamy.

5. Serve immediately, topped with a gingerbread cookie, if desired.

Making Drinks for a Crowd

If you’re serving several people, this recipe is easy to scale. Mix equal parts Kahlua, vodka, and gingerbread syrup in a pitcher and keep it chilled in the fridge. When you’re ready to serve, fill glasses with ice and pour in the batch mix. Top each with heavy cream and stir gently to combine or pour the cream over the back of a spoon for a layered look.

Tips and Tricks

  • Chill your alcohol and syrup before mixing to keep the drink cold without diluting it too quickly.
  • Use heavy cream for the richest, creamiest texture. Half-and-half works well for a lighter drink.
  • Pour the cream slowly and stir gently so the drink stays smooth and creamy.

Strawberry Pizzelles

Pizzelles are one of my favorite childhood cookies and I'm constantly looking for ways to put a new spin on them.  Since one of my favorite summer fruits is strawberries, I swapped out the vanilla in the original recipe with strawberry extract.

Easy Stuffed Waffles with Sweet and Savory Fillings

Stuffed waffles are a fun twist on the classic waffle—crispy on the outside and packed with tasty fillings inside. I recently got a stuffed waffle maker, and I’m loving how it turns waffles into little pockets of deliciousness! The best part? You don’t need a strict recipe because this is a perfect “clean out the fridge” meal. Grab whatever leftovers or fillings you have on hand, stuff ’em inside, and waffle away! Here’s what I tried this time, but feel free to get creative and make it your own.
